What is the opportunity?
As VP Structuring and Syndication, you will be responsible for advancing RBC’s Financial Advisory and Structuring capabilities across the Caribbean. As the primary regional technical resource for Caribbean Financial Advisory Services (CFAS), you will design, execute, and distribute complex financial solutions, including structured debt, syndicated facilities, and advisory mandates, that enable clients to achieve their strategic and financial objectives. The role will also drive the build-out of RBC’s regional investor network, strengthen syndication partnerships, and ensure the Bank maintains its jurisdiction-specific license to operate through disciplined governance and regulatory compliance. In this role, you will balance client needs with sound risk practices, generate fee income and revenue growth, ensure compliance with RBC’s framework, and strengthen client relationships.
What will you do?
- Lead the development, structuring, and syndication of complex financing and advisory transactions across multiple Caribbean markets.
- Deliver client-focused solutions spanning Mergers & Acquisitions, corporate and debt restructuring, equity financing advisory, and asset-backed securitization.
- Act as RBC’s Centre of Expertise for deal structuring and underwriting as required, partnering with Commercial Banking and Group Risk Management to ensure transactions are sound, compliant, and value-creating.
- Build and expand institutional investor relationships, enhancing RBC’s role as a trusted arranger and advisor in both regional and out-of-footprint markets.
- Oversee advanced financial modelling and valuation analyses to assess deal feasibility and optimize structures.
- Foster client satisfaction and advocacy (LTR) through tailored advice, seamless execution, and proactive issue resolution.
- Adhere to all regulatory, governance, and jurisdictional requirements, maintaining the relevant license to operate.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Minimum Undergraduate degree, ideally in Banking, Commerce, Finance, Business Administration, or related field, combined with relevant experience
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in corporate and commercial deal structuring, credit underwriting and portfolio management
- Proven experience in M&A advisory, corporate and debt restructuring, and securitization mandates.
- Exposure to institutional investor engagement and syndication networks across multiple jurisdictions.
- Advanced proficiency in financial analytics and cash flow modelling, with strong command of valuation methodologies and investor presentation development.
- Proven track record in deal structuring, syndication, and transaction execution within regulated financial environments.
- Deep understanding of Caribbean markets, regulatory frameworks, and licensing requirements to operate.
- Excellent relationship management, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence across business units.
- Strong governance discipline, with demonstrated commitment to risk management, compliance, and operational integrity.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical capability and business acumen
- Experience with emerging communications and technology (i.e. web-based meetings, social media, digital banking, and mobile applications)
- Team player with a growth mindset, continuous learner, and advocate for exceptional client experience.
Nice-to-have
- Professional designation such as Master of Business Administration (MBA), Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
- Experience managing large-scale syndication or investor roadshows, including virtual and in-person engagement -
- Broad knowledge across multiple industries to support diverse client needs
- Awareness of emerging financial regulations, market trends, and technology impacting corporate finance
- Bilingual fluency (English/French/Spanish) considered an asset for regional coverage.
