Vice President Finance, Technology and Risk TT

OBJECTIVE/PURPOSE  

The Vice President Finance Technology and Risk (FTR) is an integral member of the Leadership Team to support value/ wealth creation. As a member of the leadership team, the Vice President, FTR has a key role in Strategy development and strategy execution, ensuring the FTR Group plans are in alignment with Corporate Strategy.

The Vice President FTR has responsibility for:

  • Managing the financial health of the organization which includes driving value across the Company’s portfolio of assets thus ensuring return on capital employed is achieved;
  • Ensuring the organization has the liquidity to carry on business operations, capital structure to support growth and diversification and management of enterprise risks both actual and emerging inclusive of all financial risks.
  • Enabling the business with use of technology for business value optimization.

The Vice President FTR is a member of Management Tenders Committee and Risk Council Committee, attends Board meetings and has responsibilities as it relates to the business of the National Gas Company and its interests in Upstream, Midstream and Downstream assets.

FUNCTIONS

  • Works with the President and Leadership team on strategy development and execution of strategies to proactively drive economic value creation.
  • Provide leadership in the development and continuous evaluation of short- and long-term strategic objectives.
  • Providing strategic recommendations to the President and members of the executive management team.
  • Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision making issues affecting the organization.
  • Develop finance organizational strategies by establishing functional objectives in line with organizational objectives.
  • Manages the full range of finance functions including, accounting and reporting, budgeting, business monitoring and performance management, treasury management, debt management, credit management, risk management, tax management, investor relations and strategy development and support.
  • Oversees the budgeting and forecasting process for the NGC Group including long range planning and getting the annual plans for company approved by Board.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities and provides critical information and analysis to make superior operating and strategic decisions. This includes developing operating and financial metrics, analysing organization operations, identifying opportunities for revenue improvement, cost reduction, systems enhancement, portfolio adjustments.
  • Implements robust processes for allocation and investment of capital to maximize shareholder value.
  • Manages the Capital structure including leading in securing of competitively priced funding and accountability for ensuring compliance with loan covenants.
  • Manages the assessment of credit rating by International Rating Agencies that supports raising of finance in capital markets
  • Provides financial due diligence and support in the execution of Mergers and Acquisition activity.
  • Assures statutory and regulatory compliance with existing provisions for the organization and its subsidiaries. This includes annual audited financial statements for NGC, its subsidiaries and the Consolidated position of the Group.
  • Manages the provision of all information requirements to the Parliament of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and represent the Company at Parliamentary Committee Meetings such as Public Account Enterprise Committee meetings and Joint Select Committee Meetings which are all part of governance of state organizations.
  • Develops and/ or enhances, implements and enforces policies and procedures by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the organization and to adequately safeguard the assets of the Company and subsidiaries.
  • Management of credit, market, interest rate and capital structure risk to protect business value.
  • Designing and implementing an overall risk management process for the organisation, which includes an analysis of the financial impact on the company when risks occur.
  • Developing and implementing policies and mitigation plans to reduce and control risks and liabilities.
  • Manages insurance procurement, develops, and implements risk management and compliance policies/ procedures, and manages claims and litigation.
  • Manages relationships with third party service providers including brokers, underwriters, and other third-party administrators.
  • Develops the corporate technology strategy, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and directs and ensures the deployment of this strategy across the organization. 
  • Drives innovation and technology enabled solutions and implements technology strategies for value creation to support improved process, energy efficiency and business sustainability.
  • Monitors changes in technology and related regulations/laws in order to assess the impact of changes on Group ICT long-term strategic planning.
  • Ensures the enforcement of security administration of information systems and user access based on industry-standard best practices, regulatory governance, and delegation of authorities.
  • Directs, plans, organizes and controls all activities of the organisations information management to ensure the effective, efficient and secure operations of all automated data processing systems.
  • Enhances and/or develops, implements, and enforces policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the organisation.
  • Establish systems for the Management and protection of the Enterprise Data and Records.
  • Attends Board and Committee meetings for the NGC and its subsidiaries to provide operational and strategic support.
  • Executes any other related duties as assigned

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • ACCA, CMA/CIMA
  • MBA or equivalent Certification
  • Fifteen (15) years’ experience in the finance, risk, information technology and management in the gas and/or oil sector, ten (10) of which should be at a senior leadership position.
