What is the opportunity?

The RBC Commercial Banking Team is hiring a Vice President Corporate Banking and Caribbean Financial Advisory Services (“VP CB/CFAS”). You will effectively manage a portfolio of corporate clients and a transaction pipeline through well executed sales routines, of RBC Caribbean Advisory Services in the Dutch Caribbean (DC) target market.  Your goal is to deliver advice that ‘help clients better their financial position, build enterprise value and improve overall business performance. In this role you leverage your skills as a financial consultant, collaborating with partners to deliver business advice to target corporate clients, on Acquisitions (M&A, IPO, Leveraged Buyouts), Financial Consulting (Wealth Management, Company Valuation Services, Market Competitive Analysis) and Debt & Equity Financing (Debt Underwriting, Capital Structuring, Equity Financing). 

What will you do?

  • Develop trusted region and market networks to enable acquisition and expansion of target client relationships.
  •  Develop expertise in geographic sector and/or specialized market segments in order to contribute to the acquisition of new clients to RBC.
  • Develop innovative borrowing structures that meet and exceed client needs and expectations, proactively identifying, referring and fulfilling on new opportunities as appropriate, promoting collaboration amongst the Commercial Banking relationship team and partners
  • Network internally and externally to build awareness of RBC Caribbean Financial Advisory Services, conducting meetings and presentations with internal partners in Commercial and Private Banking
  • Develop relationships with business and build/maintain a pipeline of potential Advisory mandates
  • Manage preparation of marketing and other transaction related materials
  • Lead ongoing communication and interface with all appropriate business and functional partners in ensuring the smooth and seamless delivery of services to clients
  • Develop, maintain and strengthen relationships with Cross Enterprise business partners
  • Proactively develop, maintain and strengthen relationships with Cross Enterprise business partners
  • Educate and enable our clients to digitally self-serve through use of Cash management and Merchant Solutions
  • Develop expertise in geographic sector and/or specialized market segments in order to contribute to the acquisition of new clients to RBC
  • Ensure consistent use of Contact Management strategies, Sales Routines, Client Strategy documents to promote volume and revenue growth, client loyalty and retention
  • Create and deliver a superior customer experience to each client through careful pre-call research and planning, a ‘consulting’ approach, and regular client relationship reviews

What do you need to succeed?

  • Candidates must be experienced, entrepreneurial professionals with significant financial advisory experience and relationships and knowledge of the market they will serve.
  • A demonstrated ability to successfully originate, win and close mandates related to the group’s advisory services
  • Strong collaboration and project management skills and the ability to execute transactions from start to finish
  • Strong Communication and negotiation skills
  • Champion high standards of professionalism throughout all levels of engagement from prospecting to selection and close.

Must-have

  • BSc in Business, Finance, Banking or equivalent qualifications
  • Minimum eight (8) to ten (10) year experience in a Corporate\Commercial advisory environment.
  • Technically competent in the areas of finance, Acquisitions Financial Consulting Company Valuation Services, Debt & Equity Financing
  • Good leadership and demonstrated sales management practices

Nice-to-have

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA), CFA, or pursuing relevant post graduate education.
