Sr. Manager, Upstream Operations and Contracts TT

OBJECTIVE/PURPOSE

  • Works closely with the Vice President, Commercial to provide oversight and governance of the Commercial functions across the gas value chain.
  • In collaboration with Vice President and Commercial Managers, proactively provides oversight and developmental support in gas contract strategies, negotiations and processes ensuring alignment across all phases of the value chain.
  • Positions NGC to realize optimum gains in support of NGC’s overarching business goals.

 

FUNCTIONS

  • Develops and implements in collaboration with the Vice President, Commercial, the customer relationship management strategy to address critical issues facing NGC’s customers and service providers across the gas value chain.
  • Leads and facilitates the development of gas contract strategies across the gas value chain (Upstream, Midstream and Downstream) including economic evaluations and leads negotiations to ensure optimal returns to NGC.
  • Peer reviews Commercial Group economic models and input assumptions to predict future economic conditions and assess the potential impact of different scenarios.
  • Leads a multi-disciplinary team that identifies and evaluates opportunities with existing gas suppliers to secure additional gas volumes from the upstream suppliers.
  • Ensures adherence and optimization of NGC’s contractual arrangements with all gas suppliers and downstream customers.
  • Develops in collaboration with Vice President Commercial and Vice President Legal, contract strategies for proper rent allocation across the gas value chain.
  • Seeks areas for improvements in NGC gas value chain activities by remaining current on industry trends, market activities, and competitors.
  • Builds and manages relationships with NGC’s suppliers and customers, at all levels, ensuring alignment with technical and commercial information to support the negotiation and contracting process.
  • Resolves customer contractual and account services issues with independent action in a timely manner by being the focal point for various functions including Operations and Finance in order to provide an excellent standard of service to internal and external customers.
  • Proactively conduct strategic account reviews with all assigned suppliers and customers on a regular basis to review service needs and usage trends.
  • Ensures knowledge sharing, and synergy across gas value chain areas for seamless contract and relationship management.
  • Oversee and monitor asset and contractual performance and identifies and communicates opportunities for increased revenue generation.
  • Develops and implements recommendations based on a robust understanding of the impact of economic uncertainty factors; balances and prioritizes resources so that the objective of the Commercial Group can be realized.
  • Represents the company at key industry events and trade shows and provides reports on changes and innovation in the industry.
  • Executes any other related duties as assigned.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

The minimum requirements for the position are:

  • BSc in Economics, Engineering, Management Accounting, Management or related degree.
  • MBA OR Master’s in Economics, Engineering, Management Accounting or in a similar field of study will be an asset.
  • At least fifteen (15) years’ experience in a related field, of which eight (8) years must be at a leadership level.
  • Experience in the oil and gas sector at a senior level would be an asset.
