JOB SUMMARY
The incumbent will be responsible for monitoring and operating the Group’s Information Systems following pre-defined processes and job schedules which includes system start-up and shut-down, routine re-configuration, simple data management tasks and operations that control data processing.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitors all the Group’s on-line systems (Profile, ATM, MasterCard, VISA, ATM networking, T24, Telephone Banking, Internet Banking) and records and reports on all abnormalities so that speedy corrections could be made to ensure high system availability
- Converts and inputs required transactions into the systems, ensuring that they are balanced as per control guidelines and updated by specified timelines
- Processes jobs according to operating instructions maintaining a high standard of accuracy and timeliness to ensure that agreed availability time frames are met
- Logs all errors and escalates to the support officers (ICT Department/s) on call for early rectification as outlined in the procedures including collating errors which are inserted in the daily status reporting
- Updates processing control logs with daily information to allow for trending and analysis to improve operations
- Executes defined actions in response to simple/routine/exceptional conditions and escalates to the Shift Supervisor for immediate action
- Ensures that all system updates and output files/reports are accurate and dispatched to relevant users
- Ensures that all system backups (tapes) are accurately completed, logged and dispatched to off-site location to be secured for BCP (Business Continuity Planning) use
- Operates out of the Disaster Recovery site based on assigned schedules or as assigned
- Assists with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and the development of procedures, as they relate to new ICT projects or initiatives
- Reviews service desk incidents/requests, process and delivers results to Users in a timely manner according to service level agreements
- Provides on-the-job training to new Service Operations - Shift Operator in understanding the process flow and operating procedures to perform these functions with minimum supervision
- Engages in marketing of the Group’s products and services
- Responds to customers’ requests, enquiries, incoming and outgoing calls, both local and foreign, in a courteous and timely manner consistent with operating standards and escalation to the Supervisor/Manager where necessary
- Completes special projects and other related activities as assigned by the Supervisor/Manager
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Candidates must possess a Associate's Degree in Information Systems or Computing with one (1) year working experience in a banking or computing/Information systems environment
OR
- Diploma in Information Systems or Computing with two (2) years experience in a banking or computing/Information systems environment
- Good time management, oral and written communication, organizational and record keeping skills
- Good understanding of software and hardware configurations
- Good interpersonal and team work skills
- Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and use relevant technical documents and forms
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of the Group's Operating Software Systems, Products and Services
