What’s the role

The Senior Reservoir Engineer will be responsible for providing reservoir and petroleum engineering expertise in the areas of production monitoring, forecasting, reservoir management, well and field development planning activities. The candidate is expected to also be able to provide reservoir engineering functional leadership within the team

What you’ll be doing

RESERVOIR ENGINEERING DISICPLINE

  • Lead reservoir engineer for Development Projects, leading the building, history matching and uncertainty analysis of simulation models

  • Production forecasting in support of project stage gates, business planning and reserves estimations

  • In-depth analysis of all available static and dynamic data including benchmarking with regional analogue data

  • Test multiple development scenarios and perform sensitivities on well count, well type, and phasing

  • Conduct simulation sensitivity analysis and IPSM modelling

  • Lead delivery of Field development and WRFM Plans

  • Coach, mentor and develop the skills of junior RE colleagues to help improve technical competence levels and performance

WELLS, RESERVOIR and FACILITIES MANAGEMENT (WRFM)

  • Lead all WRFM activities and coordinate WRFM practice table reviews (e.g. Daily Production Review, Production System Optimization, Annual Well, Reservoir and Facility Reviews)

  • Coordinate with subsurface disciplines, process engineers, production support engineer, subsea engineer, commercial and surveillance allocation analyst to ensure delivery of WRFM plans.

  • Coach and support other WRFM leads/practitioners in the asset

  • Support safe delivery of production targets through active WRFM

  • Drive opportunity maturation process from identification to execution of initiatives. Ensure the WRFM activities are executed safely and efficiently.

  • Deliver monthly production plan and quarterly production forecast

  • Drive WRFM continuous improvement areas (e.g. well testing, allocation, surveillance)

BUSINESS PLANNING

  • Support efficient and high-quality delivery of business production forecasts & hydrocarbon maturation updates

  • Provide and defend inputs in challenge sessions and robustness reviews and support / review required planning documentation (e.g. note for file, presentations)

  • Perform reserves estimation and classification in compliance with industry standards such as SPE-PRMS or SEC guidelines. Ability to defend position to both internal and external auditors.

What you bring

  • Must have legal authorization to work in Trinidad & Tobago on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.

  • University degree in Petroleum Engineering or equivalent

  • Minimum 15+ years of relevant experience in the oil and gas industry

  • Proven competence as a Studies Reservoir Engineer, with the ability to quickly assume a technical assurer role

  • Strong reservoir modeling and simulation experience

  • Proficient in Reservoir Engineering software such as Petrel, PVTi, Saphir, and IPM

  • Skilled in workflows including PVT, SCAL, reserves estimation, decline analysis, nodal analysis, production optimization, forecasting, and integrated modeling

  • Significant expertise in Well Reservoir Facility Management (WRFM)

  • Solid understanding of related disciplines such as geology, geophysics, drilling, facilities, and economics, with a proven ability to lead in multidisciplinary environments

  • Experience with Petrel/Eclipse and Petex IPM is a strong advantage

  • High achiever with strong relationship-building skills

  • Clear communicator of technical recommendations

  • Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills
