Senior Finance Officer AW

General Purpose:

The Senior Finance Officer is responsible for the daily execution of the accounting operations of Orco Bank, the periodical compilation of multiple financial reports, financial analyses and Central Bank reporting. The Senior Finance Officer provides support for the annual year-end closing, ad-hoc advice and support to specific financial, and administrative aspects with assigned deadlines and ensures that reports comply with international financial reporting standards and/or Central Bank regulations.

 

Position Highlights: 

  • Preparation of Central Bank reporting (annual/ bi-annual/monthly/weekly)
  • Assistance with the preparation of financial reports, budget, and ALCO reports
  • Periodical compilation and review of data analyses
  • Performing (ad-hoc) analysis, such interest analysis and banking fees and commissions.
  • Prepare journal entries and other financial transactions
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors and be prepared to surrender documentation if called upon
  • Assist with deliverables for the hard-close and year-end audit
  • Handling accounts payable
  • Maintain the fixed assets register and related budget monitoring of projects
  • Establish and/or maintain relevant internal policies, work instructions and spend controls
  • Prepare recommendations for the Team Leader and/or Management

 

Requirements:

  • Min. completed bachelor’s degree in business administration, Accountancy or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years’ demonstrated experience in administration related business.
  • Knowledge and experience with automated financial administration software, advanced knowledge and experience with Excel, Word and Power BI.
  • Knowledge in multiple specialized finance fields and thorough understanding of finance methods, techniques and processes
  • Works autonomously and may deviate from established procedures and practices as long as the end results meet the required standards
  • Advises, convinces, and challenges a large variety of stakeholders beyond content drive arguments
  • Applies existing knowledge to identify, develop and implement improvements in a clearly defined context.
  • Knowledge of the guidelines of the Central Bank of Curacao & Sint Maarten, DNB and AFM is a plus.
