Applicants are hereby invited to apply for the Contractual position of Senior Business Analyst (Non-Management Grade 7) within our Group Strategic and Corporate Planning Department for a period of Eighteen (18) months.
JOB SUMMARY
The incumbent will be responsible for supporting strategic and tactical initiatives throughout the Business Improvement (BI) lifecycle and Management as part of a Centre of Excellence (CoE) philosophy which seeks to strengthen the Group's business improvement capabilities. He/She will also be responsible for analyzing value streams, redesigning business processes and recommending business solutions that advance the objectives stated in the Group and Unit level scorecards.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Works closely with Management to assist with transformational initiatives and tactical continuous improvement in support of strategy
Provides support in the synthesis and integration of information from tactical level initiatives to inform the overall view of the organization, environmental analysis, group strategic plan, balanced scorecard (BSC) and business transformation initiatives
Conducts analysis to identify the root causes of process variation, errors, process delays, or other quality issues using appropriate improvement methodologies
Performs statistical analysis and hypothesis testing using tools such as Excel, R, JASP, or Python.
Analyses, designs, documents and maintains project artefacts from inception to implementation with documents such as but not limited to user stories, use cases, journey maps, process maps, data flows, information maps, organization maps and capability maps
Communicates and presents analysis findings and recommendations to Management and Senior Leadership
Conducts problem solving and design workshops to aid with future state designs, strategic road maps and key milestone identification
Performs gap/fit analysis to assess viable solution options
Translates business requirements into functional and non-functional specifications
Collaborates with the Strategy Team to ensure relevant Unit level business improvement initiatives are captured in the BSC and aligned to the relevant strategic outcomes
Analyses and maintains requirements traceability matrix to ensure alignment between business requirements, functional/non-function requirements, test cases and solution features
Provides training and support to end-users on how to use the solutions effectively
Provides support in the development of KPIs and SLAs in support of monitoring performance of business improvement solutions
Uses SQL/Power BI to develop dashboards that enable tracking of KPIs related to benefits realized from business improvement initiatives
Conducts research into the latest trends and best practices in business improvement methodologies
Collaborates with GHR to provide an annual schedule of training on best practices regarding business improvement methods, techniques and tools
Engages in marketing of the Group’s products and services
Responds to customers’ requests, inquiries, incoming and outgoing calls, both local and foreign, in a courteous and timely manner consistent with operating standards and escalation to the Supervisor/Manager where necessary
Completes special projects and other related activities as assigned by the Supervisor/Manager
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics or an equivalent qualification with a strong emphasis on quantitative analysis from an accredited institution and a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in the financial sector OR;
An Associate Degree or certification in Six Sigma, Lean or Business Process Management (BPM) and a minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a Business analyst, Business Systems Analyst, Data Analysts, or related analytical role
Experience in banking and financial environment with exposure to analysing data using tools such as Excel, JASP, SQL, R, or Python would be considered an asset
