What is the opportunity?

RBC (Barbados) Service Company Limited has a vacancy for a Reinsurance Analyst – Longevity Operations.  This is a key analytical role in the management of longevity reinsurance data and client relationships, and is a subject matter expert (SME) regarding movements in the portfolio that could affect financial and risk management reporting.

 

What will you do?

  • Analyze Longevity Reinsurance accounts for treaty compliance and alignment with established risk and treaty parameters through analysis of inforce portfolio membership data against pricing data and longevity reinsurance treaty parameters to ensure compliance
  • Support the onboarding of Longevity deals and implementation projects into the Longevity Administration System (PAXmin) & performs User Acceptance Testing as necessary
  • Understand client portfolio information at the member level to identify discrepancies and issues that could affect onward reporting
  • Trouble shoot with client operations teams to resolve discrepancies & other complex issues to final resolution for assigned client list
  • Support the processing of Longevity Business Data Cleanses and Annual Reviews including the implementation of annual data changes into PAXmin
  • Documentation of processes and procedures for the administration of assigned client list
  • Understand how pension benefits work in the UK market along with changes to the market over time
  • Consider enterprise-wide solutions and downstream impact and provide recommendations  on process improvements and technical solutions including liaising with Third Party Vendors

 

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in related field or 5 plus years’ experience in Reinsurance practices and principles
  • 4 – 7+ years’ experience in analytical role leveraging systems (In-depth knowledge and experience)
  • Strong analytical skills and problem solving ability
  • Ability to communicate findings of complex analyses
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Industry relevant knowledge (E.g. ARA, FLMI)
