Job Description:

The Optometrist has the following key responsibilities, in accordance with the department's agreements, protocols, and standards:

The optometrist supports the ophthalmologist and conducts independent consultations, including refractions, prescribe eyeglass prescriptions, fitting contact lenses, as well as performing biometry, visual field testing, pachymetry, glaucoma and cataract follow-ups, manage follow-ups of medical retina cases, diabetes clinics, and diabetic screening using bio microscopy and other diagnostic tests. The optometrist also monitors chronic patients in collaboration with ophthalmologists.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Optometry;

• Patient-focused attitude and well-developed social skills;

• Flexibility and a strong sense of responsibility;

• You interact pleasantly with both colleagues and patients;

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team;

• Proficiency in Papiamento and English (Dutch and Spanish are a plus).
