This role can be located in the Caribbean Banking Market or in Canada where the successful candidate resides

 

What is the opportunity?

In this role you will be responsible for the effective day to day management and reporting of the Caribbean Banking’s Project Portfolio as well as annual planning for Application Development budgets. This includes overseeing accurate onboarding, maintenance and closure of project records, ensuring data accuracy and reporting throughout the project life cycle, active monitoring of the portfolio’s performance against targets and Executive dashboards that provide insights and decision-making information.

 

What will you do?

  • Performs accurate and timely monitoring, tracking and review of the portfolio performance of Application Development spend and highlight any inconsistencies or variances. Responsible for ensuring projects abide to strict adherence to Application Development budgets, have updated and accurate financials on actuals/forecast and projects reflect the correct status (open, closed, cancel or on hold).
  • Performs monthly forecast analysis to identify variances and to ensure delivery to the full value of the plan.
  • Performs monitoring of resource allocations to ensure that they are up to date or raise alerts if they are not fully forecasted.
  • Leads monthly the portfolio performance (and agenda) at Project Review Meeting (PRM) to show the Application Development spend against plan and for early detection and reporting of portfolio anomalies.
  • Supplies quarterly forecasts to the Personal Banking & Digital Technology team for the Caribbean Banking portfolio.
  • Facilitate review and preparation of IRB Agenda, document actions/minutes at the IRB
  • Support IRB Prioritization and Planning sessions to establish a robust, prioritized plan for the upcoming year
  • Responsible for supporting project audits and assessments as required, leading the Technology pieces
  • Support for ensuring that PMO processes including templates, guidelines and standards aligned to the Enterprise PMO is communicated and adhered to by the PM community.
  • Prepare monthly portfolio dashboard (financials) and portfolio metrics

 

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • University or graduate degree in a technical area of study, with a preference in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering or related technical discipline
  • 5 years’ experience on multiple projects with multiple interfaces and/or 3rd parties
  • Demonstrable consulting, technical leadership and development experience on large-scale enterprise software implementation(s) for Financial Services organizations,
  • Experience acting as a technical lead or solution architect on a packaged or in-house developed business critical system.
  • Proven hands-on experience with the design, development, deployment and support of software projects using packaged software as the foundation
  • Demonstrated experience and applied knowledge of Agile and other project methodologies

 

Nice-to-have

  • Background/experience acting as a technical lead, subject matter expert or solution architect on RBC Caribbean Core Banking/Payments systems
