Job Summary
The incumbent will be responsible for the management, maintenance and servicing of existing portfolio of Coporate Trust/capital market tranactions inclusive of bonds, syndicated loans, notes and collective investment schemes. They will also be expected to play a pivotal role in the development and growth of the corporate trust services portfolio, by building and maintaining key capital markets, relationships and providing leadership and oversight to the administrator of the trust services portfolio.
Key Duties and Responsibilites
- Takes responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the Corporate Trust Services team
- Reviews trust documents to identify responsibilities of key stakeholders of the trust and particularly the responsibilities of the trustee or administrative agent
- Keeps up to date with all legislative requirements for the operations of corporate trustee services in the local and regional market
- Works in conjunction with legal counsel to ensure that transactional documentation is consistent with market regulations and requirements and arrange for execution of documentation
- Leads and manages the Corporate Trustee Services team, ensuring high performance and professional development
- Develops and implement strategic plans to enhance service delivery and client satisfaction
- Monitors covenants, collateral documents and other key stakeholders to trust to ensure that all responsibilities are executed in accordance with constituting documents
- Oversees the administration of trustee services tor capital markets transactions, collective investment schemes, and deferred annuities
- Monitoring issuers and ensuring adherence to all prescribed covenants and obligations as detailed in the trust documents
- Ensure all transactions are conducted with the highest level of integrity and transparency
- Documents, Implement and monitor controls to ensure compliance and mitigate the risk or possibility of loss in execution of trustee duties
- Monitors and reports on team performance, setting and achieving Service Level standards SLA's and key performance indicators
- Ensure accurate timely reporting of trustee activities
- Builds and maintains strong client relationships, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded
- Handles client and stakeholder inquiries and resolve issues promptly and effectively
- Works in conjunction with the processing team to prepare and dispatch invoices and fee request letters to clients
Qualifications and Experience
- Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration or a related field from a reputable University or other professional qualification from a recognized professional body eg. CFA, CIMA, ACCA and five (5) years progressive experience in Trust Services or a related financial services field, at least two (2) of which must be at a Supervisory Level OR
- Executive Diploma\Diploma and seven (7) years progressive experience in Trust Services, at least five (5) of which must be at a Supervisory Level OR
- GMDP Certificate and ten (10) years of progressive experience in Trust Services, at least seven (7) of which must be at a Supervisory Level
- A Master's Degree would be an asset
- Proven leadership and team management experience
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and fiduciary responsibilities
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skill
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure
- High level of integrity and professionalism
