Digital Product Owner TT

Purpose of Role:

The Product Owner supports the strategic development of an assigned product / suite of products ( Digital) and has responsibility for the tactical execution of the assigned product roadmap. The incumbent is the primary intermediary between the sales teams, the strategic product management team, key internal and external stakeholders, and development teams, synchronizing with other Product Owners on vision and priorities. The incumbent facilitates the co-creation of the team’s vision and goals in line with the strategic priorities of the Bank and provides daily leadership and direction to the squad to develop and communicate the product goals and backlog items and prioritize according to scope, timelines, and budget.  


Key Accountabilities:

  • Designs & develops   product strategy, vision, and roadmap and sprint goals for the assigned portfolio, writing / documenting features and functions of the product in a user-centric format to socialize key stakeholders, facilitating buy-in and allowing for adjustments to objectives and tactics as market conditions dictate.
  • Defines product requirements based on client needs, market conditions, opportunities, and client feedback to ensure clear and comprehensive documentation, in order to drive seamless sprint planning and release mapping.
  • Promotes & generates solutions that deliver minimum viable products (MVP) with continuous improvement on each sprint to improve client experience, offering market leading products, oriented in the maximization of value and minimization of effort.
  • Develops & oversees  presentations and leads product demo sessions and awareness forums to streamline communication and engagement protocol across all stakeholders.
  • Develops & implements reporting to track defined objectives and key results (OKRs) and relevant metrics against plan and tools and methods to track industry trends to address production issues during sprints and refine methodologies.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders (internal and external) to work on removing impediments in the squad to coordinate and deliver tasks required to fully execute defined roadmap.
  • Regulates & prioritizes squad’s backlog considering future perspective, making decisions on backlog items, synchronizing, and aligning squad members and participates in major squad events and escalation events, delegating as appropriate to ensure full coverage to ensure that the squad understands the key deliverables and end users’ / customers’ needs and achieve squad objectives, keeping it updated.
  • Inspects & adapts proposed solutions and initiatives by the squad, evolving the solution according to the needs of the user or customer, and incorporate the modifications and changes resulting from the validation into the backlog to ensure that they are fit for purpose and comply with corresponding policies and guidelines.
Critical Knowledge & Skills Required:
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in product management or development role
  • In depth knowledge of the end-to-end sales process
  • Demonstrated experience in product, consumer, and competitive research
  • Ability to work independently while simultaneously contributing to multiple projects
  • Identify opportunities and define product vision and strategy
  • Ability to integrate project initiatives into BAU activities
  • Ability to translate business requirements into product requirement/user stories and ensure development team understands the context and specifications to deliver quality product within the timeline
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and strengthen end-to-end process for the product  and other banking services
  • Deep understanding of industry trends and customer needs, ability to create a customer value proposition and product/experience view
  • Numerate with the ability to undertake financial analysis / modelling and business case development
  • Experienced in creating and delivering compelling presentations
  • Experienced in Business Analysis and analytics areas
  • Awareness for cultural idiosyncrasies and understanding of the practices, regulations, policies, and general dynamics of conducting business across the Caribbean region
  • Customer satisfaction orientation and sales competencies
Experience Required:
  • 3-5 years of product management experience, with a focus on digital products and services
  • Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance or related fields
  • Diploma / certification in project management would be an asset
  • Scrum coach certification / scrum master certification would be an asset
