What is the opportunity?
The Communications Associate will support the development and execution of internal communications tactics contributing to the success of internal and external communications within RBC’s 10 Caribbean markets. In this role, you will support the Caribbean Banking Corporate Communications team with a variety of tactics to enhance employee engagement, deliver valuable internal communications and build knowledge and awareness of Caribbean Banking’s strategic priorities.
What will you do?
- Support the planning and execution of communication campaigns and initiatives
- Assist in drafting and editing communication materials, including emails, newsletters, press releases, and social media posts
- Identify storytelling opportunities to engage and inspire Caribbean Banking employees
- Conduct research and gather information for communication projects
- Assist in the day-to-day project management and production of town halls as well as virtual and special events
- Assist with video development, including planning, scripting, coordinating shoots, recording sessions, and reviewing video edits
- Provide administrative support for the creation, publishing and promotion of communication and campaigns
- This includes planning and executing based on project objectives and target audience, incorporating feedback and revisions, final file preparations, tracking and records keeping, and coordinating for publishing/posting
- Help maintain and update internal communication platforms (e.g., intranet, Connect)
- Support and maintain Caribbean Banking distribution lists
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Undergraduate degree/post-graduate certificate or equivalent in communications, public relations, journalism, English or related field
- Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communications skills
- Deadline-driven and results-oriented, strong project management skills and time management capabilities
- Team player who likes to build relationships and thrives in a fast paced, large corporate environment
- Technical aptitude and willingness to learn and use digital technologies
Nice-to-have
- Ability to meet consistently high standards of quality while handling a variety of projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Basic graphic design experience
- Previous experience in financial services
