As the Baggage Handling System Coordinator, you support the day-to-day operations of the baggage handling system. You play a key role in monitoring system performance, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring timely baggage delivery to help maintain a smooth, efficient, and reliable baggage operation that contributes to an optimal passenger experience.
Main responsibilities include:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for operational baggage-related inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the coordination of daily baggage operations and ensure smooth communication between relevant departments and service providers.
- Assist with documentation and upkeep of procedures related to baggage handling processes.
- Perform routine facility walkthroughs to monitor cleanliness, system conditions, and overall baggage hall functionality.
- Collaborate with the BHS Engineer to uphold quality standards and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- MBO degree in a technical, operational, or logistics-related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in operational coordination, logistics, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of airport baggage systems and operations (pre).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Experience with reporting tools is a plus.
- Fluent in English; Dutch and/or Spanish is a plus.
- Willingness to learn and grow into a critical support role within airport operations.
Unit: Development & Technology
The Baggage Handling System Coordinator reports directly to the Baggage Handling Engineer.
