Auditing Senior – IT Project Assurance TT

Job Summary

 

The incumbent will be responsible for assessing the adequacy of Information Technology (IT) Projects' risk management, governance, and internal controls by conducting thorough IT Project assurance audits, identifying potential risks, and providing actionable recommendations. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in IT Auditing, Project Management, and Risk Assessment to support the organization’s goals, assess compliance with relevant standards, and drive continuous improvement in IT project Assurance practices.

 

 Duties and Responsibilities 

 

  • Conducts comprehensive IT Project Assurance reviews of Information Technology (IT) Projects by completing the following:
  • Assess and identify gaps between Project Management practices and the Group’s Project Management Methodology and/or best practice.
  • Determine compliance with internal Policies, Industry Standards, Best Practices and Regulatory requirements.
  • Assess the adequacy of IT project risk assessments and recommend additional risks that should be considered along with potential mitigating actions.
  • Plans and develops Internal Audit IT Project Assurance activities which includes assessing Business and Information Technology alignment, Information Technology Solutions readiness, Organization and Process Change Management and Post Implementation.
  • Executes Internal Audit IT Project Assurance Procedures, and document Findings in accordance with established Internal Audit and Project methodologies.
  • Collaborates and leads discussions with Project Stakeholders, Project Managers, Information and Communications Technology teams, and other relevant Stakeholders to communicate IT Project Assurance findings and validate whether corrective actions have been implemented.
  • Prepares Internal Audit IT Project Assurance draft reports, summarizing findings, recommendations, and action plans for the Manager Internal Audit-Technology Security and Change Management.
  • Participates as a non-voting Project Member in Project meetings in the implementation of new systems and/or the modification, upgrade of existing systems.
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvements and contributes to the development of best practices in Internal Audit IT Project Assurance.
  • Completes special projects and other related activities assigned by the Manager

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Project Management or Business Management, with two (2) years progressive experience in any combination of IT Auditing, Project Management, Business Analysis or a related field with a focus on IT Project Assurance OR
  • An Associate’s Degree in Information Technology, Project Management or Business Management with five (5) years progressive experience in any combination of IT Auditing, Project Management, Business Analysis or a related field with a focus on IT Project Assurance
  • Certifications such as CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) or CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management), or PMP (Project Management Professional) are highly desirable and will be an asset
  • Knowledge of effective Project Management strategies and tactics, such as techniques, tools, and applications associated with the coordination of internal resources.
  • Ability to manage multiple Priorities, analyze data, and keep abreast of trends related to the use of Information Technology (IT)
  • Ability to conduct effective interviews.
  • Ability to utilize processes, tools, and techniques for detecting, addressing, and preventing fraud.
  • Knowledge of internal audit, IT audit, and the ability to evaluate organizational effectiveness, operational control, and governance processes, controls and practices
  • Strong research, analytical, critical thinking and conceptual skills
  • Valid T&T driver’s license and passport, and the ability to travel overseas as required
  • Ability to work outside the normal working hours, including weekends and Public Holidays
