What is the opportunity?

In the role of Assistant Manager - Group Risk Manager, Personal & Private, you will approve Risk Strategies and Transaction Requests within Delegated Lending Limits using sound judgement and adherence to Policy, taking a balanced approach to asset growth and portfolio quality. You will partner with Area Managers, Sales Managers, Account Managers, and Personal Lenders in management of the assigned portfolio, providing specific focus on the Personal Lending portfolio.  You will also provide Coaching and Counselling to business partners.

 

What will you do?

  • Influence portfolio quality through strategic  assessment and management
  • Approve/recommend/amend Risk Strategies and Transaction Requests within Delegated Lending Limits, meeting agreed timelines
  • Identify and refer Lending and Non-lending opportunities
  • Coach and counsel lenders on risk
  • Identify knowledge gaps and training opportunities, and work with senior sales management to address needs, supporting appropriate training programs as needed
  • Ensure client and employee information, both electronic and paper based, is kept confidential and protected at all times.

 

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • University degree in Accounting, Economics or Business or equivalent education/training in a related field
  • At least 2-4 years Credit experience
  • In-depth knowledge of RBC’s Credit Risk Policies, standards, procedures and practices, Folios etc.
  • Good understanding of the Bank’s retail products/programs (mortgages, PLOC, auto, IL, CC)
  • Strong and proven Risk assessment and analysis skills
  • Proficiency with Bank technology
  • Good Communication and Coaching skills
