Associate Director, Local Processing Centres TT

Purpose of Role:
The Associate Director Local Processing Centres is responsible for the leadership and overall management of the local operations centres, ensuring the achievement and delivery of all committed service level agreements with internal and external business partners. The incumbent provides leadership, direction, and guidance to the local processing teams and is an integral part of the development of the strategic direction and change management in the Operations function within these teams and the wider Centralised Operations team. The incumbent drives the management of all operational risk issues within the local centres and continues to develop awareness of good governance practice and a strong risk and control culture. The incumbent has overall responsibility for implementation and management of the operations processing strategy while contributing to the achievement of the respective country’s business objectives and has oversight of securities in each of the countries.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Leads & drives adherence to local centre’s budgets, policies and procedures, and audit, control, and security checks to develop awareness of good governance practice and a strong risk and control culture, ensure mitigation of business risks to minimise all potential losses / reputation damage and ensure that all audit findings are resolved, and procedures put in place to avoid recurrences.
  • Oversees & leads the balancing of regional and local internal accounts; timely liquidation of outstanding items and processing of local securities to avoid and / or reduce financial loss and ensure prudent accounting practices are adhered to and followed.
  • Oversees, tracks & reports on operational risk issues and incidents, including key controls assurance reviews for all the local processing centres, consolidating issues, identifying solutions, implementing, and monitoring controls to ensure alignment to the Bank’s governance standards and mitigation of identified or potential risk.
  • Leads & directs the management of sundry losses within the local processing centres / operations function to ensure effective management of the unit’s and the Bank’s finances / GLs and ensure that financial losses are mitigated.
  • Leads & drives the identification, implementation, and adoption of business / operational changes within the local centres, including identifying and recommending simplification through situational analysis of processes to ensure continual improvements that align to the Bank’s digital strategy and enhance the operational efficiency effectiveness ratio.
  • Leads & supports the local processing centres with stakeholder management (key business partners and service providers) to ensure adherence to the Bank’s processes and the delivery of the contracted services.
  • Manages, tracks & reports on assigned budget(s) and resources and identifies and resolves any deviation from budget / plans, and provides input to the annual budget development process  to ensure the financial targets are met and benefits realisation is achieved.

Critical Knowledge & Skills Required:
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience working in an operations environment at a supervisory / managerial level
  • 5 – 10 years’ previous management experience in administration or operations in a large branch of a financial services company.
  • Proven ability to manage, lead and motivate distributed teams.
  • Proven and successful experience managing stakeholder and partner relationships, with ability to influence peers and managers to re-focus business plans.
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of the range of services provided by the Bank, across all customer segments, including loan products, legislations and regulations
  • Good knowledge in business communications or business practice, information systems or finance, or equivalent knowledge and work experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Bank’s performance objectives, targets, and budgeting to support management in achieving business goals
  • Extensive knowledge of and practical experience in managing banking processes
  • Good knowledge of existing union agreements and the handling of personnel issues
  • Good knowledge of Inter Bank Clearing Regulations
  • Knowledge of the laws related to the securities of the Bank
  • Ability to manage in a fluid environment, while maintaining efficiency due to constant changes in procedures, charges from governmental agencies, etc.

Experience Required:
  • Masters in Banking or business-related field
  • Processing Professional Certification Principles (PPCP)
  • Certification in Agile or knowledge of process or methodology
