JOB PURPOSE
The Accounts Receivable Supervisor will direct and manage the overall operations of the Accounts Receivables unit for GKMS Group- except Guyana & Trinidad.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise and coordinate the activities of the accounts receivable team providing guidance and training to the team
Review monthly Receivable & assigned balance sheet reconciliation statements
Ensure Receivables are kept at a minimum, and adequate strategies and devised and payment plans are in place and adhered to by sub-agents where applicable
Ensures Billers are correctly invoiced, and payments received within the agreed timeframe
Assist in follow up of the collections from billers and agents ensuring all collections are being made timely, liaise with debt collectors and lawyers as necessary
Assess and recommend to the Financial Controller long outstanding balances for which provisions are being recommended
Resolve and billing issues and queries as may arise
Facilitates staff development and synergies among team members in the unit
Ensures that staff are equipped with the tools and information required to perform their functions
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & COMPETENCIES
ACCA/MBA Level
At least two years relevant experience and a sound knowledge of financial sector
Strong analytical and modeling skills are needed, together with ability to present reports and recommendations confidently to senior managers.
Excellent problem solving and strong analytical skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
In-depth proficiency in spreadsheet applications.
Thorough knowledge of financial principles and techniques.
Strong working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks effectively.
Ability to operate independently; explore new areas/issues thoroughly and to communicate effectively.
Computer Literate – to include all MS Office applications,
Financial Appraisal techniques
An agile mind capable of moving rapidly between significant projects, good interpersonal skills, and an analytical approach.
