12 Metre Crew Member SX

General Responsibilities:

Position Summary:

The 12 Metre Crew Member supports the safe and smooth operation of 12 Metre America's Cup racing yachts during guest excursions and regatta-style experiences. This role involves assisting with sailing maneuvers, delivering excellent guest service, and ensuring safety procedures are followed at all times. Crew members are ambassadors of the experience and play a key role in delivering an unforgettable, interactive sailing adventure.

 

Key Responsibilities:

·       Assist the Captain in operating the vessel during races and tours, including sail handling, line management, and docking.

·       Welcome and interact with guests in a friendly, engaging, and professional manner.

·       Provide a clear and enthusiastic pre-tour safety and participation briefing to guests.

·       Instruct and assist guests during hands-on sailing activities (e.g., grinding, tacking, steering).

·       Monitor guest safety on board and respond to emergencies or issues as needed.

·       Help maintain the cleanliness, readiness, and appearance of the vessel before and after each tour.

·       Participate in rigging, de-rigging, and routine maintenance tasks.

·       Support with provisioning, restocking, and general logistics as required.

·       Communicate clearly and effectively with the Captain, fellow crew members, and shore-side team.

·       Promote a fun, memorable, and safe experience aligned with the company’s customer service standards.


Qualifications:

·       Prior sailing or deckhand experience (experience on classic yachts or in a guest-facing environment is an asset).

·       Basic knowledge of sailing terms and techniques.

·       Strong interpersonal skills and a guest-first attitude.

·       Physically fit and able to perform manual sailing duties (e.g., lifting lines, grinding winches).

·       Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

·       Ability to swim and respond calmly in emergency situations.

·       Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

 

Preferred Certifications (Not Required but Considered a Plus):

·       STCW Basic Safety Training

·       First Aid & CPR

·       Boat Handling Certification
