JOB SUMMARY

The incumbent will be responsible for trading assets to meet the major objectives of both yield and trading gains in both the short term and long term cognizant of the departmental goals and strategy. He/She will also focus on trading a part of our USD emerging market book valued close to USD 200M.

 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Trades a portfolio of emerging market international bonds by analyzing and selecting from the universe of fixed income securities to achieve P&L (realized) and total return targets
  • Provides research and in-depth analysis of potential investments to Manager prior to each trade as well as makes presentations of trading ideas to the Risk and Portfolio Strategy Committee as required
  • Manages risks, in conjunction with the Manager of the Eurobond Portfolio which involves monitoring the markets and managing stop loss for bond positions according to Investment Policy Statement (IPS)
  • Maintains key counterparty/client relationships with Brokers, other Financial Institutions, local/foreign customers
  • Acts as broker on behalf of Investment Services for the local/foreign bond market secondary trading and primary dealing (bidding) for external clients and First Citizens Investment Services Limited (FCISL)
  • Engages in marketing of the Group’s products and services
  • Responds to customers’ requests, enquiries, incoming and outgoing calls, both local and foreign, in a courteous and timely manner consistent with operating standards and escalation to the Supervisor/Manager where necessary
  • Completes special projects and other related activities as assigned by the Manager

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics or related field
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in investment analysis and/or risk analyis
  • Strong oral & written communication, time management and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal, team building and cross selling skills
  • Analytical, conceptual, research, negotiating and problem solving skills
  • Ability to use initiative, work independently and exercise sound judgment
  • Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and use complex documents and forms
  • Professional deportment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of the Group’s Operating Software Systems, Products and Services
