The (Senior) Technology Solutions Specialist – Networking will have responsibility for setting up, developing and maintaining the bank’s computer networks. This will include planning, configuring, implementing, and troubleshooting security and network infrastructure necessary to maintain a secure network. The incumbent will also provide support to users including staff, customers and suppliers, and troubleshoot any problems that arise.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Install, configure and maintain computer networks and network equipment including VPNs, routers, Firewalls, Switches and other physical hardware.
- Manage firewalls and update virus protection software and data security systems to keep data and communications protected.
- Guarantee network security best practices are executed through auditing: router, change control, switch, firewall configurations, and monitoring.
- Plan and appraise ongoing assessment of antivirus, application control, firewall, SIEM, VPN, SSL, intrusion detection or intrusion prevention, and other network component policies.
- Monitor network performance and determine/recommend needed improvements or adjustments
- Troubleshoot, resolve, and communicate networking, hardware and software issues to other employees and management.
- Implement and/or perform disaster recovery operations and business continuity procedures as required.
- Fix software and hardware configuration issues for users on-demand or from inspection of the systems.
- Responsible for periodic vulnerability testing, and lead remediation projects.
- Participate in the design and execution of vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits.
- Participate in established Incident Management procedures.
- Provide on-call support for end users for all in-place security solutions.
- Contribute to escalated problem resolution by giving in-person or remote support to end users when necessary.
Experience and Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of proven work experience in Information Security. Prior experience in a banking environment would be an asset.
- A CCNA and CompTIA Network + certification would be an asset.
- Any of the following professional certifications would be an asset: CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator: Security, CISSP, or CEH,
