Sustainable Energy Resource Mobilisation

Job Summary
The CCREEE is looking for a Sustainable Energy Resource Mobilization and Investment Expert to lead and operationalize the Resource Mobilization Action Plan to source human and financial resources for the CCREEE’s operations and its work plan activities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assists the Executive Director in the review and consolidation of relevant internal rules and procedures of the Centre to advance the CCREEE’s interest in sourcing direct funding from major donors and financiers and to build sustainable partnerships beyond;
  • Supports the Executive Director in the identification and mobilization of funds from public sources as well as from the private sector;
  • Participates in and supports preparations for key meetings at the CCREEE Secretariat, the CARICOM region or international level upon request of the Executive Director;
  • Supports the development and implementation of SE Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency projects in Member States to contribute to the overall goal of the CARICOM Energy Policy
  • Contributes to quality assurance, specifically the financial and operational elements throughout the project cycle on a wide range of RE and EE activities
  • Ensures project risks and opportunities, mitigation plans and saving plans are properly calculated and disclosed;
  • Develops relevant tools to monitor the thematic priorities of potential sources of funding and making these available to the CCREEE’s Team as a means of helping to design work program interventions;
  • Provides on-going review of the CCREEE’s work plan to ascertain availability of funding
  • Assists with the design and development of funding strategies that support the long-term financial sustainability of the CCREEE
  • Accesses and structures project proposals to maximise the potential for commercial co-financing and catalysing of additional sources of capital for SE programming;
  • Strengthen the visibility and reputation of the Centre on RE issues regionally and internationally, actively participate in SE related discussions, as well as the compilation of policy and other technical briefs, op ed’s and opinion articles in renowned publications, etc.; 

 

Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

  • Master’s Degree with a focus in resource mobilisation; additional academic degrees in project management, finance or international relations would be added attributes
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant job experience in Project Financing with proven track record of creating bankable projects for the investor markets
  • Experience in international development cooperation and the management of development partners; networks to main actors of the energy sector are an added value
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle politically and culturally sensitive issues;
  • Proficient use of processing tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access), Internet, electronic mail and financial/administrative systems
  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of Spanish or French is an added attribute.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to varying work and travel schedules
