What is the opportunity?

RBC (Barbados) Service Company Limited has a vacancy for a Software Designer & Developer.  You will collaborate with IT, Operations and Business stakeholders to assess, research and resolve system issues and develop new technology solutions that meet sponsor/stakeholder needs.

 

What will you do?

  • Provide consulting services on new initiatives of small to large complexity
  • Assess, research and analyze business and system needs, exploring alternative options to recommend technology solutions and designs that meet sponsor needs and Product Lifecycle (PLC) deliverables including component reusability, data sharing and security
  • Prepare high level and detailed technical specifications in accordance with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), security and architecture documentation objectives
  • Contribute to successful project completion by identifying risks and developing/recommending mitigation strategies
  • Provide input and co-ordinate with Data Engineers and Data Base Owner/Administrator (DBO/DBA) in creating new and modifying existing database structures using different types of databases and recommending and developing appropriate Graphical User Interface (GUI) designs based on required functionality
  • Be able to quickly, effectively and appropriately evaluate options, make decisions and execute within an intense high-tech environment
  • Coding, Testing & Documentation of in-house built applications and version control management
  • Develop, code, document and execute unit test, system, integration and acceptance test using different languages and testing tools for functions of high complexity

 

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical area of study (computer science, engineering, etc.) or other BS/BA degree with a concentration in computer science or information systems
  • Total IT experience of at least 7 years out of which 3 years doing solution architectures on at least medium sized projects
  • Proven experience at contributing to multiple projects from initiation to implementation
  • Database technologies – DB2, SQL Server
  • Strong functional/object-oriented programing experience
  • Strong programming with VBA and SQL in any RDBMS
  • CRM Tools: IBM App Connect, IBM Master Data Management, J2EE, Eclipse, Rational Application Developer Development environment
  • IT Standards, Methodologies, SDLC Information Security & audit requirements
  • Experience with data analytic tools
  • Experience with technical documentation (systems development and revisions.)

 

Nice to Have

  • Certifications in GUI programming languages, Relational Databases, Microsoft, Azure and SQL Server
  • Advance knowledge in SDLC, Data Management and Information flow
