The Senior Security Officer will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing security operations and personnel at the Reception Centre. The role of the Senior Security Officer involves improving the quality of service delivery of security operations and strengthening coordination, information sharing and surveillance activities through mutual interaction.
The incumbent will report directly to the Security Coordinator, while supervising Junior Security Officers closely on daily basis in providing security services to the children and staff who reside at the Reception Centre. In the absence of the Security Coordinator, the incumbent will assume the responsibility for all initial emergency responses and procedures.
All of these services will be delivered in-keeping with best practice, while respecting and promoting the rights of the child. All activities must be geared towards maintaining the highest levels of service to all internal and external stakeholders and clients, must be sensitive to children’s issues, must conform to the guidelines and standards set by The Authority and to all legal, regulatory and statutory requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
i. Provide routine supervision, team leadership and general direction to Junior Security Officers and Security Officers as required.
ii. Monitor onsite CCTV and alarm systems to respond to all alarm and emergency calls.
iii. Co-ordinate emergency operations involving communication with security personnel and ensure strict adherence to Operational Procedures in emergency situations.
iv. In the absence of the Security Coordinator, conduct the initial investigation or interviews into any security incidents that may occur during the shift.
v. Prepare full, detailed and accurate reports by the end of each shift of all incidents that occurred during the shift using standard formats.
vi. Respond to all alarms, medical and fire emergencies, or other matters as they arise in accordance with the relevant procedures and policies.
vii. Respond with equanimity and tact to enquiries and complaints from staff members and residents of the Reception Centre.
viii. Assist in any event of evacuation and/or crisis situations.
ix. Operate all electronic security devices.
x. Performs any other security duties which may be required.
