Senior Portfolio Manager Proprietary TT

What is the opportunity?

In this role you will manage the Roytrin suite of Proprietary mutual funds and Future Cash funds  managed by the Company to ensure that each fund outperforms their respective designated benchmarks, while maintaining compliance at all times with the relevant Investment Policy. You will manage individual portfolios for High Net Worth (HNW) individuals and businesses in accordance with these individualized Investment Policies. You will also be responsible for performance versus benchmarks and compliance with Investment Policy. You will represent RBC Investment Management at investor forums and presentations and deliver performance presentations to HNW clients.

What will you do?

  • Responsible for the profitable management of our Roytrin suite of mutual fund products and HNW client portfolios through the development and implementation of effective portfolio strategies based on both long and short term goals.
  • Responsible for the determination of suitability of bonds, equities and other investment instruments for each of the funds under management
  • Discern what is required to make the fund profitable while adhering to the specifications of the policy 
  • Monitor how investments are divided and ensure that the required investment balance is maintained in keeping with the policy
  • Mitigate risks based on the accountability for clients’ funds
  • Manage one Portfolio Manager and responsible for developing the incumbents in relationship management, presentation skills and strategy refinement
  • Prepare aspects of quarterly performance reporting on each of the managed portfolios that are then are then incorporated into the client performance overview prepared by the Account Manager.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • A minimum of a First Degree in Finance, Business Administration or Economics
  • CFA Charterholder or minimum Level III CFA Candidate
  • Expert knowledge of financial assets including fixed income, equity, derivatives and money market
  • Keen understanding of economic developments and their impact on investment performance and opportunities
  • Sound knowledge of and experience in portfolio management
  • Sound knowledge of financial modeling and risk measurement
  • Minimum seven (7) years in Capital Markets, five (5) of which must be at a managerial level
