Project Quality Assurance Analyst

Applications are invited from suitably qualified members professionals to resource the role of Project Quality Assurance Analyst, JamFIRMS II Project, Financial Institutions Supervisory Division. Reporting to the Project Manager, JamFIRMS II Project, Financial Institutions Supervisory Division, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

Business Requirements Analysis & System Development:

  1. Analyzing the detailed Business Requirements and perform further decomposition to determine the methodology for quality testing.
  2. Identifying technical gaps in the business requirements documentation and recommending adjustments for approval.
  3. Working directly with product manager and project programmers to understand technical and functional system requirements, use cases, and performance considerations.
  4. Supporting the planning, development and implementation of collaborative tools/applications and systems to facilitate the efficient sharing of information between financial institutions, FISD business units and Bank-wide.

User Acceptance Testing Function

  1. Developing the overall Project Testing Strategy and UAT Test Plan in collaboration with the project development and planning team.
  2. Defining and performing various test functions – Black Box, User Acceptance Testing, Functional, and Regression, End to End testing for mobile devices, websites and mobile apps.
  3. Developing and ensuring adherence to Change Management controls in compliance with sound best practice standards.
  4. Assisting with the development of business workflows and validation, writing, debug and maintain test scripts, test cases and utilize automation frameworks.
  5. Providing direction to UAT testers (includes offshore and onshore) for project ensuring requirements traceability and timely defect management.
  6. Responsible for tracking and resolving project issues and escalating issues appropriately and on a timeline basis. Communicate status, defects and progress clearly and consistently. Create or update reports with status as needed.
  7. Collaborating with the Information Systems Department, architecture and infrastructure partners in maintaining highest levels of service for the shared services as well as developing best practices, process improvements, and facilitating an efficient utilization of the technology assets.
  8. Providing post-release testing of production changes. Communicating effectively the daily status – risks/ issues/ dependencies, track progress and manage issue workflow to resolution.
  9. Managing, tracking and reporting on the quality assurance process during the project.

Monitoring and Evaluating (M&E)

  1. Collaborate with Project Development team and Project Planning team in assisting with development of the M&E plan.
  2. Conducting tracking and monitoring of M&E indicators and reporting on progress during and post-implementation.

Training, Documentation and Technical Support

  1. Conducting testing-related, system and user training activities.
  2. Collaborating with the Project Programmers to develop user training materials and other documentation (such as, System Manuals, User Guides) to guide system users.
  3. Providing technical support to application solution users during UAT and in Production.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or related discipline plus three (3) years’ relevant working experience.
  • Certification in quality assurance, user acceptance, systems testing and project management desirable.

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Hands on experience developing systems test plans, coordinating and leading quality assurance and testing project teams, managing issues/defects, track bug management activities and documentation
  • Experience with project management and Unified Modified Language (UML) diagram tools.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Mobile browser and native apps experience is a plus.
  • Must have the desire for delivering excellence in product quality, and reliability.
  • Excellent problem solving, interpersonal communication, project and time management skills a must.
  • Must be extremely detail-oriented in regards to verbal and written documentation and communication.
  • Knowledge of the Bank of Jamaica Act, the Banking Services Act, the Financial Institutions’ Act, Building Societies Act and any other relevant legislation, BOJ directives and regulations.
  • Understanding of supervisory best practices, legislation and regulation.
  • Knowledge and awareness of the BOJ’s business and operations.
  • Knowledge of standards and procedures in the development and implementation of information systems
  • Strong information technology skills particularly sound knowledge of application testing tools/software.
  • Excellent communicator with highly developed oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Report writing skills.
