JOB SUMMARY:
The Project Officer will report to the Project Manager - Business Optimization. The incumbent will provide a range of project management and support services, including preparation of reports and briefs, coordinating resources, maintaining project documentation and implementing and monitoring project plans, to ensure project outcomes are achieved on time, on budget, to quality standards and within agreed scope, in line with established project management methodology.
KEY DELIVERABLES:
- PROJECT MANAGEMENT - Supports the planning, documentation and execution of complex projects, and advising sponsors, management, users and other stakeholders as necessary on all aspects of the project being undertaken.
- OPERATIONAL EFFECTIVENESS: Ensures effective and efficient utilization of assigned resources, towards achieving operational goals and standards, as well as budgetary compliance.
- CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT: Reviews current systems and processes, always looking for system improvement with the view of the meeting and exceeding operational goals and standards
- RESOURCE MANAGEMENT: Recommends the best uses of the available resources, including personnel, systems, policies, procedures, assets, equipment and information & communication technology.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
You must have a Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent qualification. You must possess a minimum of three (3) years of experience in a similar role in the aviation industry. You must have advanced Project Management Certification. Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite and in particular, MS Word, MS Excel and MS Project is required.
You must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and well-developed planning and organizing skills. You must have the ability to work independently and manage a high volume of work with shifting priorities all within daily deadlines. These abilities must be supplemented with a strong commitment to service excellence.
