Maintenance Supervisor

The successful candidate should demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the pertinent aspects of the Manufacturing Plant Optimization Systems to include; Safety, Quality, Environment, Logistics, People, Management and Maintenance Pillars, including policies, objectives, rules, hazards, and controls relevant to his/her specific job responsibilities and their impact on Company policy. He/ She shall assist in the development of new policies/procedures for improvements as it relates to his/her department.

 

Responsibilities

The Maintenance Supervisor shall be responsible for monitoring, controlling and the supervision of corrective, predictive and preventative maintenance activities to allow for the smooth running of equipment and ensuing success of pre-established production programs within the standards of quality, safety, cost and service provided. Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Achieving compliance with the safety standards and guidelines to ensure workplace safety.
  • Effectively troubleshooting and rectifying all machinery related issues in a timely manner.
  • Assisting with the technical evaluation of personnel and recommend and/or deliver training as required.
  • Supervising a team to ensure the effective execution of all maintenance (planned, corrective, preventative and predictive) activities to plant equipment, utilities, and facilities.
  • Scheduling personnel to ensure adequate staffing and record attendance/timekeeping of personnel.
  • Improving the reliability of plant equipment by developing, implementing, and reviewing maintenance procedures and checklists.
  • Assisting with the preparation of the annual budget and the management of maintenance costs.
  • Minimizing downtime by identifying and assisting with the procurement of critical spares and tools.
  • Generating and presenting reports for management review as required.
  • Assisting with the planning and coordination for the installation, commissioning, and modification of new and existing equipment.
  • Supervising the 5S in the area.
  • Monitoring and verifying the factors that impact cost, quality, morale, customer service and safety.
  • Participating in the process of Recruitment and Selection, as required.
  • Performing other reasonable job-related duties that maybe assigned by management.

 

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical, Electronics or Mechanical Engineering
  • 2+ years of job-related experience is required.
  • Supervisory training and/or minimum of two years’ supervisory experience
  • Practical knowledge in trouble shooting sophisticated electrical and electronic circuits
  • Skills oriented to troubleshoot mechanical components
  • The ability to read and interpret electrical and electronics drawings as well as mechanical parts books
  • Knowledge of motors, controllers, circuits, and code for electrical installations
  • Proactive and sound communication skills
  • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Sound engineering skills in machine repairs, maintenance, preventative maintenance, and electro-mechanics.
