National Energy Corporation of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (National Energy) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of The National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (NGC), with a mandate to conceptualize, promote, develop and facilitate new energy-based industries including downstream industries locally and internationally.

 

This position reports to the Senior Manager, Organisational Capability, SCM and Branding with responsibilities for the development and implementation of effective Supply Chain management strategies for continuously meeting the organisation’s needs. This position provides tactical and operational oversight for the process of acquisition and supply of materials, equipment, supplies, services, in accordance with Company and regulatory requirements, transparency, integrity and value for money.

 

Key Functions:

 

  • Develops the SCM strategy and workplan in alignment with the Company’s strategic imperatives;

  • Deploys appropriate measurement methodologies to ensure that value for money is derived from supply chain activities for sourcing and contracting;

  • Establishes performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of factors affecting the supply chain;

  • Analyzes current inventories and procedures; suggests improvements to increase efficiency of supply chain and profitability for the company;

  • Monitors the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; 

  • Designs and implements relationship building for vendor evaluation process and business value.

  • Negotiates prices and terms with suppliers, vendors, and/or freight forwarders to improve supply chain efficiency or sustainability;

  • Guides the review, evaluation, and amendment of policies, procedures, quality standards and practices related to procurement and the development of Strategic Agreements;

 

The minimum requirements for the position are:

 

  • A First Degree in Supply Chain Management (SCM), Business Management or Logistics;
  • Post-graduate qualifications in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Finance and /or Professional certification in SCM or related field will be an asset;
  • Six (6) – eight (8) years’ experience in a similar role, three (3) of which must be at a supervisory position; .

  • Ability to apply supply chain management tools, technology and processes,
  • Knowledge of contract management, Procurement best practices and administration services,
