Job Description
As a Financial Administrative Employee, you are one of the first points of contact within the Finance Unit. You will correspond with external clients and internal stakeholders in person, via email, or by telephone. You assist with enquiries related to billing and payments, among other matters. Additionally, you will support the payroll process, provide relevant financial data for reporting, and help maintain an up-to-date and well-organised financial administration in collaboration with your administrative colleagues
This is a temporary position for a one-year trial period, with the prospect of permanent employment. The salary offered is within scale 6, with a minimum of $2,442.30 and a maximum of $3,419.22 gross per month, based on a 36-hour work week. These amounts are according to the Statia Government salary table dated 4 December 2024. Placement within the scale is based on qualifications and experience.
Assist internal and external clients by telephone, in person, and via email (including management of the general finance email inbox);
· Maintain accounts receivable, track and analyse payments from debtors, and issue payment reminders for overdue accounts;
· Arrange payment agreements with clients in consultation with the Finance Manager;
· Maintain accurate financial records;
· Provide financial data for periodic management reports and other financial documents, including budgets, cash flow forecasts, and annual reports;
· Support the payroll process;
· Issue assessments such as road tax, waste tax, and others;
· Monitor and manage the bank account;
· Work closely with internal departments, especially in verifying deposits.
Specific Job Requirements
· MBO Level 3 diploma in financial administration;
· Minimum of 3 years’ experience in financial administration;
· Experience in processing payroll;
· Experience with payroll software (AFAS or similar) is an advantage;
· BBV BES (Besluit Begroting en Verantwoording BES) certification is an advantage;
· Knowledge of FinBES is an advantage;
· Good command of English and Dutch, both spoken and written.
Additional benefits include an 8.33% holiday allowance and an 8.33% end-of-year bonus. The successful candidate must submit a certificate of good conduct (VOG) and undergo a medical evaluation.
