As the Construction & Maintenance Engineer, you are responsible for ensuring that the Airport infrastructure and facilities are maintained to the highest standards. This will involve close cooperation with other airport departments, contractors, and suppliers to ensure the smooth operation of the airport. The Construction & Maintenance Engineer will have to develop, implement, and monitor the maintenance program of the airport facilities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain an effective maintenance program for the airport facilities.
  • Perform regular inspections to assess the facility infrastructure for safety, defects, and environmental compliance.
  • Executing maintenance projects and service requests from other departments.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to achieve a safe and timely delivery of services related to the maintenance and repair of airport facilities.
  • Develop and manage the maintenance budgets, ensuring that resources are used effectively and efficiently. Provide leadership and supervision to the construction & maintenance team.
  • Project management based on industry guidelines (PRINCE2)
  • 24/7 reachable when scheduled on-call.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil and/or structural Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years work experience in the field of construction/engineering
  • At least 3 years’ experience in managing and leading direct reports.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate in English, Dutch and Papiamento. Recommended, both verbal and in writing. Spanish is optional.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as collaborate with other team members.
  • Good reporting skills in financial, budgetary, coordination and organization aspects of project execution
  • Cost calculation and budgeting
  • Experience in leading a team
  • Computer Skills, knowledge, and experience with the following software: Microsoft Office Suit, AutoCad, MS Project or Primavera.
  • Knowledge and experience working with industry guidelines of project management (PRINCE2).
