Qualifications and Experience

  • The successful candidate should possess an MScN or a closely related area/RN Certification.


Candidates must also possess:

  • At least 15 years’ experience post RN certification
  • At least 5 years’ clinical/academic supervisory experience
  • At least 5 years’ experience coordinating student cohorts
  • At least 5 years’ experience in supervision of clinical staff


Candidates with the following will have an advantage:

  • Further Certification in Education
  • At least 10 years’ teaching experience 
  • Experience coordinating Clinical Examinations and Student Clinical Placements
  • Experience conducting Clinical Evaluations


The following will be considered assets:

  • At least 5 years’ clinical supervising/teaching experience
  • Current Registration with the Nursing Council for at least 10 years


Special Responsibilities

  • Supervising Clinical Instructors
  • Planning, executing and supervising clinical teaching/learning experiences for undergraduate students in the clinical laboratory and well as the clinical areas in health institutions
  • Guiding students’ clinical experiences in patient care
  • Preparing and administering clinical examinations
  • Creating and maintaining student records of clinical and clinical based classroom experiences
  • Identifying clinical sites and coordinating the placement of students
  • Assisting Lecturers in Biochemistry and Microbiology in planning curriculum, teaching schedules and course outlines


Personal Attributes

  • Have clinical, supervisory and leadership skills
  • Have excellent management skills and be able to function effectively within a high intensity environment
