Assistant Retail Manager AW

General Purpose:

The Assistant Retail Manager assists the Retail Manager with the supervision and controlling of all sales, service, operational and administrative matters related to all Retail domains. He/she ensures the daily operations of the branch, assuring effective and efficient service levels to all customers and the correct processing of the branch transactions in accordance with the Bank’s procedures and guidelines.

He/she acts as the primary contact point for all inquiries of the respective Branch.


Position Highlights

  • Review and approve, in a limited extent, applications for personal and mortgage loans and credit cards.
  • Monitor the opening, closing and maintenance of savings, current and time deposit accounts.
  • Monitor cash stocks of the branch by ensuring an adequate supply of cash from an economic and service point of view.
  • Assist in resolving complex and non-routine customer problems/complaints or other problems within the branch.
  • Maintain awareness of marketing opportunities in order to enhance the bank’s sales.
  • Maintain the sales of retail products and services of the branch.
  • Provide guidance on the job and support / facilitate in solving day-to-day issues and bottlenecks. 
  • Provide team members with adequate resources to cope with day-to-day work demands.
  • Provide motivation, guidance and support to the team members individually and collectively in order to maximize their skills, recognize their potential and develop the performance on their jobs.


  • Preferred Bachelor’s degree; required (or Min. MBO degree with min. 2 years’ experience in Retail / Sales).
  • Good knowledge of banking services and products.
  • Practical knowledge of Word and Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, Dutch, Spanish and Papiamento.
  • Solution driven and able to work in a demanding environment.
  • Able to work under pressure in a busy working environment.
  • Time management skills and able to prioritize effectively.
  • Team player and service minded.
  • Able to deal courteously with customers and stakeholders, with tact and confidentiality.
