Summary:

The work schedule for this position is: Intermittent (Irregular). Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end

 

Duties

Provide administrative/clerical support to Mission offices; type letters, telegrams, memoranda and reports from drafts; receive and distribute incoming correspondence and mail; distribute to the appropriate office; maintain schedules of reports and correspondence, track due dates and follow up on deadlines. The position is WAE, some after-hours, weekend and holiday work may be required. This position is supervised by the office in which duties are being performed but is assigned those duties by HR under direction of the Management Officer. Incumbent must be US Citizen, eligible for a Secret clearance.

 

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE: 

Must have at least one year of work experience in administrative, clerical, professional, governmental, or other related work experience.

 

JOB KNOWLEDGE: 

Must have working knowledge of using Personal Computers and office equipment (copiers, FAX). Must have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and be able to type/prepare correspondence with speed and accuracy. Thorough knowledge of regulations governing control and protection of classified material set out in 12 FAM as well as post-specific security access procedures; the proper use of security-related equipment; familiar with mission grounds/facilities.

 

Education Requirements:

US High School diploma or host country equivalency is required

 

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE: 

Level IV (Speaking/Reading/Writing) English is required.

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

Must possess good organizational and communication skills. Must be able and willing to work irregular hours and to be available for work on short notice. Must be observant, flexible and service oriented. Basic keyboard skills and computer literacy. Escort duties include prolonged periods of standing/walking and somewhat physically demanding activities to include climbing. (This may be tested)

For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.

 

The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
