The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the quality of Sagicor Bank’s (SBJ) Retail (Individual and Business) Credit Portfolio, through managing the Loans, overdrafts and credit cards to minimize the risk of loss while ensuring efficient operations and compliance with Credit Policies and Regulatory Guidelines.

  

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Make contact and follow up with delinquent borrowers via telephone, advising them of outstanding amounts,

  • Make arrangements to collect payments from delinquent clients, when necessary

  • Monitor past-due credit card, loan and chequing accounts

  • Monitor non-performing credit card, loans and chequing accounts

  • Identify and escalate accounts to be referred to bailiffs or attorney or to be restructured in accordance with Policy

  • Establishes and maintains constructive interaction in negotiating with delinquent borrowers in order to arrive at a mutual solution in the management of difficult cases

  • Effectively deal with disputes or differences of opinions (e.g. debtor may dispute the amount of the indebtedness and so on)

  • Conduct research to establish whereabouts of “hard to reach” clients

  • Identify and recommend adjustments to credit card accounts e.g. Reversal of late fees

  • Initiate Security Realization action

  • Prepares and distributes periodic portfolio performance tracking reports

 

Qualifications / Specialized Skills / Competencies

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or similar discipline from a recognized tertiary institution
  • High level of analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills

  • Exceptional communication skills

  • Has tenacity in meeting targets

  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Sound credit judgment

  • Knowledge of the Bank’s policies and procedures regarding lending and collections

  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

  • Thorough knowledge of collection techniques

  • Knowledge of PRIME and T24 is an asset
