Assists with coordinating and providing quality financial aid service to students

Responsibilities

  • Provides excellent customer service to students and colleagues
  • Responds to inquiries; and researches, and resolves problems related to transactions handled by the Student Finance department
  • Assists students with the completion of FAFSA and loan applications
  • Assists students with budgeting
  • Delivers presentations to prospective students and families
  • Delivers class presentation/workshop to enrolled students
  • Tracks student financial aid status using Excel 
  • Alerts students to deficiencies in their financial aid process
  • Participates in training and professional development to remain current in financial aid procedures and effective job performance
  • Contributes positively to the work environment of the financial aid office and the student experience team
  • Performs other related duties as assigned     

Completes other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • High level of interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally, in writing, and over the phone
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to accuracy and detail
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems
  • Must be able to prioritize and multi-task effectively and efficiently
  • Ability to work independently as well as function as part of a team
  • Personal computer skills in Microsoft Office, Internet applications, and database software
  • Minimum of 2 years working with college students preferred
  • Experience with Student Financial Aid software application a plus
