Position Objective:
To provide timely, efficient, safe and courteous driver, transportation and ushering services to the Caribbean Court of Justice and assigned Judge, and to assist in preparing Judge for Court.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Collects and delivers packages and mail; transacts business on behalf of the Court or Judges, as required.
• Provides driver services to Judges, their families, Senior Court Officials and guests to and from the Court, official functions and personal engagements as may be assigned; and ensures that passengers arrive at their destination safely and on time.
• Provides protocol services to Judges, Senior Court Officials and any other services related to travel for Judges and their families including assistance with luggage, customs and the diplomatic or airlines lounges.
• Prepares Judges for Court and takes all the necessary documents required for the particular Court hearing, as directed.
• Provides Usher/Marshal/Orderly services as required by the Court.
• Assists in the evacuation of the Commissioners, Senior Court Officials, guests and visitors, as assigned.
• Operates an assigned vehicle in a safe and courteous manner, utilizing defensive driving
practices.
• Conforms to all local traffic laws and regulations governing the operation of a motor vehicle.
• Maintains vehicle mileage log, maintenance records, fuel purchase records and vehicle condition reports.
• Checks the safety of vehicle on a daily basis to ensure road worthiness; and ensures the safekeeping of vehicle accessories such as jack, spare tyres, first aid kit, etc.
• Advises Security Supervisors and Facilities & Asset Supervisor of problems related to the
vehicle in a timely manner, including the need for renewal of insurance policies and any unscheduled maintenance servicing of vehicles to ensure that they are kept in excellent roadworthy condition.
• Delivers and collects vehicles for servicing and repairs and verifies completion of same upon collection.
• Ensures that the interior and exterior of vehicles are kept clean at all times in conformance with the Court’s standards.
• Functions as the first line of security for Judges, their families, Senior Court Officials, visitors and guests (including children and adolescents) during the execution of assigned duties, maintaining constant awareness of their surroundings and possible threats.
• Provides assistance with marshalling during evacuations, including assisting in the evacuation of Judges to designated off-site mustering points in the event of an emergency.
• Assists in other duties assigned including routine messenger services, photocopying, scanning, shredding and binding documents.
• Checks photocopier/printer to ensure that it is working and has adequate supply of paper and ink.
• Serves on committees as required and is practicable.
• Performs any other related duties as assigned from time to time.


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Good Knowledge of the traffic laws and regulations of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.
• Knowledge of protocol.
• Basic knowledge of CARICOM and regional affairs.
• Excellent time management skill.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to drive defensively.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing in a courteous and helpful manner, with a high level of customer service orientation
• Ability to understand oral and written instructions and communications.
• Ability to use a personal computer, and internet and other tools for communications.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all personnel and the public.
• Ability to efficiently manage time and function effectively in a fast paced and demanding environment.
• Ability to work in a team, and demonstrate the highest level of professional integrity, respect and diplomacy for colleagues and others.
• Ability to use initiative appropriately on the job.
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for
• Ability to operate office equipment (photocopier, shredder, scanner, fax machine)
• Ability to lift and move relatively heavy items.

• Facilities & Asset Supervisor regarding maintenance of the assigned vehicle

• Judge’s family, associates and guests
• Airport Security and Customs
• Visitors and guests of the Court


Minimum Requirements
• Three (3) CXC or GCE “O” Level subjects including English Language.
• A valid driver’s permit for at least five (5) years and a safe driving record.
• A Police Certificate of Good Character.
• A Defensive/Safe Driving Certificate.
• A First Aid Certificate.
• Residing in south Trinidad
• A Certified Protection Specialist (CPS) qualification will be an asset.


BASE SALARY: US$1,883.81 (Free of Tax)
