Position Objective:
To provide support in the preparation and recording of receipt and payment information for various accounts, including payroll.


Key Responsibilities and Duties:
• Enters transactions in the accounting system, inclusive of transactions for RJLSC.
• Prepares expense schedules for telephone, medical health insurance and other expenses, and processes payments based on the schedules.
• Verifies invoices and payments and enters them in the accounting system.
• Inputs journal entries for general expenses, including pre-payments.
• Compiles, updates and reconciles schedule of purchase orders.
• Maintains accounting files and records.
• Prepares instructions for drafts and wire transfers, as directed.
• Maintains records of filing fees collected and other receivables.
• Prepares cheques.
• Prepares audit schedules.
• Collates information and creates budget spreadsheets for budget preparation.
• Prepares and enters Payroll into automated accounting software.
• Prepares and reconciles staff loans schedule.
• Generates monthly pension spreadsheet and reconciles the employees’ and employers’ Contributions.
• Assists with maintaining and updating periodic project accounting data reports on all grantfunded projects, such as EDF, UNDP, US Aid, and others.
• Calculates subsistence and per diems, as required
• Assists with the planning, organizing and execution of projects and Court events.
• Serves on Committees as required and is practical.
• Performs any other related duties as assigned from time to time.


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Good knowledge of finance and bookkeeping/accounting.
• Good knowledge of and proficiency in automated financial and accounting systems.
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting policies, practices, procedures and standards.
• Knowledge of the procurement and accounting rules and procedures for grant-funded projects.
• Excellent interpersonal and communications (oral and written) skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Detail oriented.
• High standard of computer operating efficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and internet search engines with the ability to learn new software applications
• Ability to efficiently manage time, multi-task and function effectively in a fast paced and demanding environment
• Ability to work in a team, and demonstrate the highest level of professional integrity, respect and diplomacy for colleagues and others.
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
• Ability to use initiative appropriately on the job
• Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.

Minimum Education and Experience
• An Associate Degree in Accounting or equivalent qualifications such as Foundation in Accounting.
• Three (3) years working experience in the accounting, inclusive of accounting for grantfunded projects.
Or
• Any other equivalent combination of training and experience.


BASE SALARY US$2,318.74 (Free of tax)
