The Organisation:

The Power Generation Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (PowerGen) was established on December 23rd, 1994. The electricity produced by PowerGen's two (2) power plants is sold on a contracted capacity basis to T&TEC which in tint transmits and distributes to various industrial, commercial and domestic customers throughout the country.

The Position:

The Head Human Resotirces and Administration (Head HR&A), reports to the General Manager and is directly responsible for the organisation's Human Resources strategies and objectives within an environment predisposed on industrial relations best practice. The ideal cardidate will leverage and support management in embedding superior HR practices throughout the organisation. The incumbert will also have day-to-day responsibility for the provision of facilities mar agement and other general administrative services in support of the Company's Corporate Offices.

 

Candidates must have a proven track record of managing and directing teams to ensure the development and implementation of the Department's objectives. Candidates must also possess strong communication and negotiation skills necessary for developing ar.d maintaining credibility and cooperative relationships with various internal and external stakeholders including employees, management, and unions.

 

Applicants should hold an undergraduate Degree, preferably in Human Resources Management, Psychology, or Social Sciences. A recognised professional certification ir Human Resources Management and/or a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) or other post graduate qualification would be considered assets. Applicants should possess at least ten (10) years' experience in human resource management of which eight (8) years must be in a senior leadership position. Experience in the Corporate Communications field would be considered ar asset.
