We live in a society comprised of two classes called the rich and the poor with a lot of differences between them. These are also referred to as the haves and have-nots of the society. The rich make up barely 20% of the population and have control over 80% of the resources while 80% of the population makes use of the remaining 20% of the resources.
In today’s world, the employees of companies both big and small are learning to work in new ways, across multiple time zones, and via new technologies that are evolving faster than most of us can keep up. Combine these facts with changing expectations regarding response times in our hyper-connected world and growing corporate complexity, it is no wonder we often feel overwhelmed. Nothing, it seems, is simple these days.
I’m continually surprised by how many people don’t realize that the “required qualifications” in job ads are like wish lists, not inflexible lists of requirements. Those qualifications are a composite of someone’s idea of the ideal candidate. Believe me, they will look at people who don’t perfectly match it.
The economy seems to be picking up a little, and more and more job seekers are coming to us and letting us know about internal opportunities within their organization they would like to apply to.
